Hurled words. Thrown objects. Dodged Burgers.

After someone threw a burger at them and shouted a transphobic slur, they became obsessed with burgers. How they’re made, how they feel and smell. How they travel through the air. How the mayonnaise feels on your skin.

This show is the climax of their obsession—exploring how trans bodies survive and how, by them reclaiming an act of violence, we can address our own complicity.

Part cooking show, part exploration of an obsession, part reclaiming of an act of violence - BURGERZ is like nothing you’ve seen before (and different every single performance).

The creative team behind the Green Room Award winning production of ‘The Gospel According to Jesus, Queen of Heaven’, return to Theatre Works with this powerful, hilarious, unsettling, and timely new work featuring performance artist Kikki Temple.
