Queen Victoria Women’s Centre and Gems Zine will host three creative workshops focused on developing new skills and exploring self-expression in zine form. It’s a collaborative form, so bring your friends, grab a beverage and learn hands-on from the experts at Gems Zine who’ll be talking, making, painting and collage. These workshops are a great friendly way to reconnect in-person, share stories and participate in group reflection. We welcome beginners through to the experienced! Participants will have the opportunity to submit their final works for Issue 21 of Gems Zine.

Queen Victoria Women’s Centre aims to be both an iconic destination and women’s centre without walls. Our work is to enable, recognise and support the well-being and human rights of women (cis, trans and non-binary inclusive) from all walks of life be creating and sharing cultural experiences of many kinds.

Gems is a Naarm/Melbourne-based collective created to showcase creative work made by women and non-binary people. We self-produce Gems zine tri-annually and fill the pages with art and writing by women and non-binary people based in Australia and worldwide. In addition to our zine, we curate art exhibitions, run markets and hold workshops. Our work encourages the creativity and talent of women and non-binary people. We strive to create a platform to raise their voices and have them heard and their work seen.
